About
Boss Saint B is a genre-defying music project rooted in ritual, resistance and embodied power. Originally from Saint Boniface, Manitoba and now based on Vancouver Island, Boss Saint B is the musical persona of Britt Candide Small, an artist known for blending ferocity, humour and presence into work that feels less like a concert and more like an invocation. Driven by propulsive beats, theatricality and unapologetic lyricism, Boss Saint B creates performances where desire, rage, laughter and tenderness coexist. The project sits at the intersection of pop, punk, spoken word and ceremony: playful and confrontational in equal measure, with hooks that invite the body in while challenging inherited narratives around power, gender, authority and shame. Britt Candide Small is the founder and leader of the award-winning theatre company Atomic Vaudeville, based on the West Coast of Canada, and has an extensive background in live performance, collective creation and physical theatre. She also teaches acting, movement and clown to performers, informing Boss Saint B’s highly embodied, relational approach to music-making. Boss Saint B has opened for Peaches on a world tour and for Jimbo the Drag Clown, and has performed at numerous festivals across British Columbia, as well as in unconventional spaces including studio openings, theatre festivals, and site-specific events. The project is currently developing new recordings and live work that continue to blur the line between concert, ritual and uprising.
